YMCA Global Engagement

The YMCA Global Engagement Trips Abroad program combines purposeful travel, cultural immersion, and hands-on service projects with local YMCA branches around the world.

Program Overview

• Mission: Engage globally and act locally by connecting U.S. participants with international YMCA programs that support youth development, housing, education, and immigrant/refugee relief.

• Eligibility: Open to adults 18 and older with a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity for international travel), subject to meeting travel/health requirements and clearing a YMCA criminal background check.

• Membership: You do not need to be a YMCA member to participate, though YMCA members receive a discounted trip rate.

• Leadership: Trips are guided by U.S.-based staff alongside local YMCA leaders from the host country
